Griffin Refineries has signed an agreement with a major Chilean waste management company KDM Empresas to establish a joint venture for refining municipal waste into recycled plastics and alternative fuel for the local cement industry. The facility will receive waste collected from the Santiago area in Chile.

The joint venture is based on upgrading an existing recycling facility by investing new capital, assets and know-how in the joint venture.

The upgraded facility will be the first of its kind in Chile and in Latin America.
